Jamie Cureton has become the manager of Clevedon Town, a club in the Western League. The ex-Colchester United forward is back in management after a long playing career that featured a successful time at his former club's stadium.

Cureton is well known to fans of Colchester. He played for the team in two separate periods, netting numerous times before his move back to Norwich City. He has a personal link to Clevedon's ground, where he once saw his father play.

He has stayed involved in the sport since ending his professional playing days. Recently, Cureton published his autobiography. This year, he was part of the England Veterans side that claimed the Seniors World Cup, playing in several matches and finding the net in the final. He also reached a significant career goal tally while leading Kings Park Rangers and achieved a unique scoring record across the English league system.

After his time at Norwich, he played for several other clubs, and was with Holland FC prior to this managerial move. He assumes the Clevedon position after two previous managers left.

"Back in business - Jamie Cureton has taken over at Clevedon Town," the new manager said.

As Cureton starts his new job, his old team Colchester United are in the lower half of the League Two table. Their recent matches have included several draws. The team's next game is an away match against Newport County.
