Colchester United have rearranged their EFL Trophy group game against Luton Town for Saturday, October 3. The kick-off at the JobServe Community Stadium will be at 3pm, three days earlier than the original Tuesday date.
The change was made possible after Colchester's scheduled League Two home match against Port Vale on Tuesday, October 6 was postponed. Port Vale have multiple players on international duty that week, forcing the league fixture to be moved.
All tickets and pre-booked parking for the original date remain valid for the new Saturday slot. The club has stated it will contact ticket holders directly with full details.
Danny Cowley's side, currently 13th in League Two with eight points from six games, begin their Trophy campaign next Tuesday away at Peterborough United. They will then host Ipswich Town under-21s on November 10 in the group stage.
Manager Danny Cowley addressed the broader context of managing a squad. "Criticism comes with the territory as a manager and that is fine," he said.
Attention now turns to a tough league fixture this Saturday against fourth-placed Cheltenham Town at the JobServe Community Stadium.
