The Wham Stadium hosted a tense opener when Accrington Stanley’s Charlie Caton struck a low drive in the third minute, only for Colchester keeper Thimothee Lo-Tutala to beat the effort. A moment later, Teddy Bishop cleared a dangerous ball but twisted a hamstring, forcing him off and prompting Danny Cowley to bring on left-back Jake Leake for his league debut. Mid-Game Turmoil
