Colchester United striker Samson Tovide is unlikely to be short of options as he weighs up his next move. League One is a probable destination for the former Colchester United striker, but interest from higher up the pyramid is not beyond the realms of possibility. Tovide's time at the U's may seemingly have ended, but his combination of age, physical attributes, and senior experience means he remains an intriguing proposition in the market. The 22-year-old has had injury setbacks and has yet to produce the sustained goals return that would make him one of the EFL's most sought-after young forwards. Yet, there are not many strikers with his profile: quick, powerful, capable of playing with his back to goal, and still with considerable room to improve. That potential has been recognised before. Colchester turned down multiple approaches for Tovide in January 2025, with Danny Cowley saying there had been contact from Championship clubs, leading League One sides, and teams in Belgium, Portugal, and Spain. A move to an ambitious League One club would appear the most logical next step for Tovide. It would offer him a step up in standard without placing an immediate expectation on him to be a 15-goal-a-season striker from the outset.
