Colchester United youngster Hakeem Sandah has signed for National League side Aldershot Town. The 21-year-old winger, who made three senior appearances for the U’s before being released last summer, has linked up with the Shots after joining them from Farnborough where he has just won the club’s Player’s Player and Supporter’s Player of the season awards. Aldershot boss Scott Davies told the club’s website: “To get Hakeem on board with us is great news. There’s no doubt that he will get fans off their feet and excite them with his pace and trickery. We definitely battled hard against other National League clubs to get him through the door and I’m delighted that it’s finally done after a month of talking. He was a standout player in the NLS last season and I believe he’s more than ready to make the step up and eventually progress even further up the football pyramid.” Sandah joined Colchester in January 2024, following a successful trial period. The former Maldon and Tiptree loanee spent three months on trial with the U's before penning an 18-month deal. Danny Cowley handed him his senior debut as a substitute in Colchester’s FA Cup defeat at Swindon Town in November 2024. Sandah went onto make two further appearances for Colchester – both in the EFL Trophy – before he was released by Colchester at the end of the 2024/25 season. Sandah spent two years in Huddersfield Town’s youth set-up, after joining them from the Spurs academy in 2021. He started in Chelsea's academy and had a trial with Blackburn Rovers, prior to joining Colchester.
