Former Colchester United boss Hayden Mullins has taken charge of League Two side Newport County, replacing Christian Fuchs. Mullins is excited to lead the team and make sure the players are ready for the new campaign. The 47-year-old, who had been working most recently as Fulham’s under-21 boss, will take charge of the first team with immediate effect. Mullins told the Newport website: “I’m incredibly proud – it’s a fantastic day for me. Newport County is delighted to announce the appointment of Hayden Mullins as the club's new manager. Mullins arrives at Rodney Parade with a wealth of playing and coaching experience and will take charge of the first team with immediate effect. Mullins will take charge of his first match in charge of Newport when they take on Yeovil Town tomorrow, before leading the side into another pre-season game against AS Roma at Rodney Parade, next Tuesday. Newport get their League Two season started at home against Rochdale on Saturday, August 15.
