Colchester's former striker Jake Hutchinson has signed for National League side Tamworth. The 24-year-old striker has just enjoyed a fantastic season with Folkestone Invicta, where he won the Pitching In Isthmian Premier Golden Boot after netting 24 league goals.

What happened?

Hutchinson told the Tamworth website: “I’m hoping to carry on my goalscoring form and help contribute to what we all hope will be a successful season!

Why it matters for Colchester

Hutchinson first moved to Colchester from Brighton and Hove Albion and steadily improved his standing at the U's throughout his apprenticeship, before progressing to the club's under-21 side.

What comes next?

Tamworth boss Andy Peaks added: “Ever since Jake became available, I wanted to bring him to the club. He’s a natural finisher with a great goal-record and I hope that continues with us!”
