Colchester United's former striker Rhys Healey has left Huddersfield Town by mutual consent. Healey, who played for the U's on loan in 2014-15, joins the list of players looking for a new club this summer. The 31-year-old, who joined Huddersfield from Watford in 2024, scored five goals in 22 appearances for the club. Healey was due to see his contract at the Terriers conclude at the end of next season but has mutually agreed to terminate his contract with immediate effect. Healey, who spent time on loan at Barrow this season, joined Colchester on loan from Cardiff in September 2014. The former Toulouse striker made 23 league and cup appearances for the U's under Tony Humes in the 2014/15 season, scoring four times in Colchester colours including on his debut in a 3-0 win at Crewe Alexandra. Indeed, Healey netted four times in his first six appearances for Colchester before eventually returning to parent club Cardiff in May 2015.
