Colchester United's former goalkeeper Sam Hornby has officially joined National League North side Hednesford Town. The 31-year-old shot stopper made the move after leaving Walsall, where he spent two seasons. Hornby expressed his excitement about the new opportunity, stating that the ambition of Hednesford Town aligns perfectly with his career goals. Having initially joined Colchester on loan from Bradford City in January 2022, Hornby became a familiar face at the club over two and a half years. After being released in the summer of 2024, he transitioned to Walsall, where he made 22 appearances across all competitions. Hednesford's director of football, Andrew Reed, shared his enthusiasm about bringing Hornby on board, highlighting his experience and leadership qualities as key assets for the team.
